Your health and safety are of paramount concern for us here at ADS Ignition Interlock Devices. The recent COVID-19 virus outbreak has many current and new customers asking questions about their IID device use and driver’s license reinstatement program.
Listed below are some immediate steps to follow in protecting your health while using your ignition interlock device:

Can I still get a hold of an ADS Customer Advisor with all the business and government office closures?
Yes, ADS Customer Service representatives are set up to work remotely and continue advising you in your program. You can call (888) 786-7384 to speak with an advisor. The ADS customer service will also have lock out codes available in the event your device goes into lock out during this time. Again, the customer service team is also a good source for any up-to-date information on your IID / BAIID program and we will share it as it becomes available.
Are there changes to my calibration and service appointments?
For now, most states are keeping current regulations and rules to your ignition interlock program and you should attempt to keep all your scheduled appointments. If any changes occur, ADS’s service advisors will have that information available for you. We are working closely with all the state program administrators and will share any changes due to the outbreak. The status on how states are managing the Coronavirus outbreak are still evolving. If you should encounter any problems with a service center closure or other problem with your appointment, you should make sure to document the situations (date, times, locations, specific etc.).
How does ADS Interlock ensure the device I am using is sanitary?
All ADS devices are assembled in our product plant in Hunt Valley, MD. The facility is ISO 9001 certified and has successfully implemented a quality management system in accordance to all of the requirements detailed in the ISO 9001 standard. Part of the ISO 9001 certification is making sure our employees follow the highest safety precautions and maintain a sanitary and healthy environment through each step of the production of the ADS interlock products – which are best-in-class.
Should I worry about my own contamination into the device?
The important note is to make sure that you have not shared the device or allowed anyone else to breathe into your car breathalyzer – who in turn might have a communicable infection. If you personally, have not shown any symptoms of the COVID-19 virus nor experiencing flu like health issues, than you should not have any additional risks of illness from using it.
Can I get extra mouthpieces for my ADS interlock device?
The quickest way to get additional mouth pieces will be to check with the installation and service center. If you are not able to go to a nearby location, please e-mail email@example.com to request additional mouth pieces.
What if my state has required restricted business operations or mandatory quarantines?
Again, it is important to continue to follow your interlock program originally set up with your state, until you hear otherwise. Keep all necessary and scheduled appointments and in the event that something caused a disruption to that, make sure to document the details of the situation. It is important that you follow state directions. ADS is working with state program administrators and in the event of a quarantine, we will provide updated communications on managing your device, including calibrations and lockouts.
What is ADS doing to help get answers before issues arise?
The majority of the leadership team at ADS Ignition Interlock devices each come with 15, 20 to 25+ years of experience in the interlock industry. These team members have established relationships with all of the local, state and federal government organizations overseeing your interlock program. They bring industry knowledge and personal customer service experience and understand the needs of individuals just like you. Undoubtedly, this is a unique and difficult time, but if there is a group of professionals who have the abilities to work through this, it is thankfully, the ADS team.

|Arizona||The state has not made any changes to the ignition interlock program at this time. Please check back for any changes.|
|California||DMV offices are closed, however the MAU offices remain open at this time. The governor excluded IID service centers from the mandatory business closures and IID service centers are allowed to continue servicing customers at this time. You should keep all scheduled appointments – any challenges you have with service center closures, please document the incident and contact us.|
|Connecticut||IID service centers are permitted to be open and drivers can be scheduled as normal. For information on any other changes with DMV services, go to https://www.ctdmv.info. ADS customer service advisors are available to discuss time extensions or other concerns.|
|Illinois||IID installation and servicing are essential business operations and outside of the state ordered closures. The Illinois Secretary of State office has been closed to the public. For those who already have an IID installed, the expiration date on the permit will be extended for 30 days. In order for the permit to remain valid, customers must continue to meet all requirements of their program and the device must remain installed. New driver’s licenses will not be attainable during the state office closures. The requirement that permittees must obtain authorization to remove from the Secretary of State has been suspended temporarily during this crisis.|
|Kansas||The state has adjusted the monitoring period. If possible please keep your next scheduled appointment, where you will be updated with information specific to your situation. |Maryland||No new installations are permitted effective immediately. The state has not made any changes to existing drivers ignition interlock program at this time. Please check back for any changes.|
|Massachusetts||The state has not made any changes to the ignition interlock program at this time. Please check back for any changes.|
|Michigan||The state has not made any changes to the ignition interlock program at this time. Please check back for any changes.|
|Missouri||The state has adjusted the monitoring period. If possible, please keep your next scheduled appointment where you will be updated with information specific to your situation.|
|New Jersey||The state has not made any changes to the ignition interlock program at this time. Please check back for any changes. All motor vehicle agencies are closed until at least 3/30/2020. Online services are fully operational.|
|Tennessee||The state has adjusted the monitoring period. If possible please keep your next scheduled appointment where you will be updated with information specific to your situation.|
