Once you’ve found a provider, the next step is making your car breathalyzer installation appointment. Choose a location nearby as you will be returning on a regular basis for calibration. This guide will explain each step of the IID installation process and answer any questions you may have.
How Long Does an Ignition Interlock Installation Take?
If you have been court-ordered to install your ignition interlock device, An interlock installation must be performed by a state-approved interlock provider. With a state-approved provider, you can be sure your new device will meet state criteria, and you know it will be installed properly. ADS has more locations than any other provider, so you should be able to make an appointment at a convenient time for you. We recommend making an appointment so you have the shortest wait possible. Installation will take approximately one to two hours.
What Happens During the Interlock Installation Process?
At your installation appointment, the certified technician will install your device. This involves wiring it directly into your vehicle’s ignition. Once installed, they will test the device and show you how it works. They will ensure you can properly test using the device and start your car. The technician will also provide you with a certificate of installation, which you may need in order to get your driver’s license or restricted license.
